Violet scoured Allrecipes.com looking for her dessert. She picked Country Apple Dumplings. The recipe called for Mountain Dew. MOUNTAIN DEW! Now, I have a (possibly) unnecessary hatred of Mountain Dew, especially for someone who has never had one... But I figured packaged crescent rolls were bad enough, I wasn't about to pour what, to me, appears to be highly caffeinated toxic waste on our dessert. I went with 7Up. Pouring soda on top of pastry almost did me in, but I have to admit, they turned out to be pretty tasty. Next time I'll cut the sugar by 1/4 cup though.

Dave and I read this together. My exact thoughts were, "Blek, that does sound weird." Dave's exact words, "That does sound good." :)
